10 Definitive Levels To The Rock & Triple H's Epic Rivalry

2. Was It The Attitude Era's Top Rivalry?

"He and I got along, but we never got ALONG. We worked together for like 5 or 6 years but from Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Rocky Maivia all the way through to the Nation and DX all the way through to everything until he left, as competitive as competitive as he could possibly be that whole way," - Triple H on Talk Is Jericho.

These two men literally fought from the second they crossed each others paths. They took turns bringing each other to the next level, initially Triple H reaching to ingratiate The Rock into WWE's midcard, with The Rock doing his best to bring The Game up afterwards.

Admittedly, the sexier choice for the best rivalry is Stone Cold vs The Rock, but much in the way Austin vs Bret came off as more realistic and intense than Bret vs Shawn, Rock vs HHH is the mirror image of that.

From Steel Cage and Ladder matches to Ironman matches, The Great One and The Game were made for each other. With each man north of 6'4 and 250 lbs, and their complete opposite looks cosmetically, they were never meant to be anything other than rivals. Vince McMahon must have looked at them both and thought "I've got a better version of Ric Flair vs Harley Race on my hands !*$%!"
