10 Definitive Levels To The Rock & Triple H's Epic Rivalry

3. Never Got The One On One Main Event

Now for what is the craziest part of this rivalry, Triple H and The Rock were never the solo main event of Wrestlemania, or even Summerslam. The stars just never quite aligned for them to meet.

As the #2 and #3 stars of The Attitude Era, The Rock ended up getting Austin on the main stage more often than not, while Triple H tended to get guys like an Undertaker, who was a strong character or someone he would be responsible for guiding name wise at Wrestlemania, like Chris Jericho in 2002 or Kane in 1999.

While they did cross paths at Wrestlemania 2000, with The Big Show and Mick Foley, and Summerslam 2000 with Kurt Angle, a solo match between them could have defined either event better than a multi-man affair could have. WWE tended to lean on them during lesser shows to anchor the product. Although back then, every month was seen as a big deal.

If the coming Wrestlemania rumors of them facing off turn out to be false, it will be a higher degree version of the travesty of John Cena and Randy Orton never wrestling one-on-one at Wrestlemania.
