10 Live Observations From Attending The Raw After WrestleMania 32
7. Booking Patterns
Baron Corbin won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32, and the following evening, he made his Raw debut. After Corbin accepted his trophy, his opponent was announced as the always popular - yet always underutulized - Dolph Ziggler.
Ziggler and Corbin had a drawn-out match that ended in a double countout. After the decision, a furious Corbin brought Ziggler to the ringside area and drove him into the mats with the End of Days.
The whole scenario is something we've seen a thousand times before - the debuting heel fights the babyface to a no contest, it leads to a pay-per-view match, and there heel gets his win. There's no question what's going to happen and Corbin, who should have just gotten the win in the first place, ends up looking like a slow starter.
While I will give WWE credit for teasing a bunch of Payback matches so early in the build to the show, this felt familiar and unnecessary.
