10 Live Observations From Attending WWE Raw In Minneapolis
4. Goldberg Sucks!
As you’ve probably heard by now, Vince McMahon lost his s**t when the Brock/Goldberg segment didn’t go as planned. It was just a big of a mess live.
Throughout the night, WWE aired Brock’s face on the screen, hyping that he would be there live. Every time he received a big pop and “Suplex City!” chants. What we got was a really big letdown, and a segment that went off the rails.
Fans in the Target Center just weren’t receptive to the return of Goldberg. He was a man who was on Raw last week, and was advertised for the next show, but in front of us we had a huge star, and one that was from the area. They treated him as the hero, and while Heyman tried his damnedest to get over “Goldberg” chants, they weren’t biting. As the segment went on “Goldberg sucks!” chants instead began to ring throughout the arena in full force. And then...Lesnar’s music was played. A sense of “That was it?” was felt around me, and we all wondered what the hell we’d just seen.
Also, it’s one thing to trot out Brock every time out and not let him speak a word, but doing it in his “hometown” was absurd. Next time WWE promotes him for a show in the area, this lousy appearance is going spring right to fan’s minds.
