The event opened with a fun encounter between the Swiss Superman, Cesaro and the Cosmic King, Stardust. The Glasgow crowd jumped to their feet as the sirens blared through the Hydro to give the returning star the ovation he deserved.

The highlight of the bout was when Cesaro decided to get Cody up for a suplex and held him in the air for over 60 seconds before finally planting him into the canvas. With shades of Davey Boy Smith, Antonio's power wowed the Scottish crowd and they were even more behind him than they were at the beginning.

In the end, Cesaro locked in a surprising sharpshooter to get the victory over Stardust as the show opened with a feel good win for the Swiss star.

While it was fun to see him open the show and get a win, it's clear that the 12,000 people strong 'Cesaro Section' want to see him move up the card into a higher position. Perhaps that'll start this Sunday if he's able to wrangle the Intercontinental Championship away from The Miz.

However high he is able to climb up the card, the Glasgow crowd will no doubt give him a hero's welcome when he returns in November for the Monday Night RAW tapings.
