8. Jake Atlas

The pro wrestling world has left this one behind.

Jake Atlas had a bit of buzz around him when he left WWE and started making shots for AEW in late-2021 into early-2022. Fans on social media really wanted him to do well, and everyone figured he'd thrive under Tony Khan's watchful gaze. That wasn't to be. A domestic violence charge led to arrest, although those charges were later dropped.

The damage was done. Atlas hasn't wrestled a match since doing the honours for Adam Cole on the 7 January 2022 edition of AEW Rampage. Before that, he'd been a stalwart on NXT since 2020. In-ring, Jake understood how to play the babyface in peril with flashy comebacks, and he had some charisma generally.

Here's the problem: Hardly anybody out there will be able to name banner matches from his NXT run. A Cruiserweight Title bout vs. Santos Escobar might enter the chat, but even that's pushing it. He was a forgotten face almost as soon as he walked through the WWE exit doors.
