10 Longest Gaps Between World Title Reigns In WWE History
7. Big Show - 9 years 1 month 2 days
In the same year as Hogan won his final world title, his old WCW rival captured the WWE Championship by snapping an iconic undefeated streak.
At Survivor Series that year, Big Show beat Brock Lesnar in what was The Next Big Thing's first televised pinfall loss. With a little help from Paul Heyman, Show won his second and final WWE Championship before... losing it a month later to Kurt Angle.
Nice to see that booking decision paid off.
Nine years later and Show would capture a different world title by overcoming yet another dominant champion. Big Show reprised his rivalry with Mark Henry heading into their TLC 2011 championship match and walked away the victor... before losing the belt in about five minutes to Daniel Bryan's Money in the Bank cash-in. You wait almost a decade to be crowned world champion only to have someone 1/3rd your size steal the belt from you because of his magical suitcase.
Typical.
Big Show as world champion was never anything worth shouting about, which might be why he only held the top prize for a combined five months across his entire career.
Still, his appearance on this list is a nice little tidbit for what has been a truly remarkable career.
