10 Longest Gaps Between World Title Reigns In WWE History

The Miz title reigns
WWE

The reason this article exists in the first place, The Miz's recent Money In The Bank cash-in was (thankfully) all for a good cause.

Miz's loss to Bobby Lashley made him the most transparent transitional champion since Stan Stasiak, but he is also the only man on this list to win both of his world championships via Money in the Bank. Which is... something?

Miz first won the briefcase in 2010; legitimately this time rather than by beating someone who won the ladder match as a joke. He would hold onto it for 127 days before cashing on Randy Orton on the November 22nd episode of Raw. Strangely, WWE had the opportunity to repeat history but chose not to.

In November 2020, Miz was Mr. Money in the Bank and Randy Orton could have been WWE Champion. Oh, and the 22nd was the date of Survivor Series. If Orton had stayed champion until Survivor Series, lost his match with Reigns, and then had Miz cash in on him, it would have created a truly unique moment.

Instead we got... well, you know.

Let's not go over it again.
