10 Longest Gaps Between WWE Title Defences
6. 105 Days - Dean Ambrose (United States), Alundra Blayze (WWF Women's)
Speaking of Ambrose, his record-breaking run as United States Champion was as forgettable as title reigns come. Ambrose seemed to hold the title forever and rarely defended it, popping up on SmackDown every now and then to battle a Kofi Kingston or a Kane.
Ambrose mimics MVP here. His final title defence of 2013 saw The Shield member retain his title despite losing via disqualification, against Big E. on RAW. Over 100 days passed before the title was defended again, and once more Ambrose was able to retain the title thanks to the rule book rather than his ability. Mark Henry beat Ambrose on RAW in February 2014, but unfortunately by disqualification.
It seems somewhat unfair to include Alundra Blayze in this list, but unfortunately facts are facts. The then-WWF flirted with revamping its women's division in 1995, but the flirting was half-baked to say the least. Blayze was the poster-girl of the division. She defeated Bull Nakano for the title in April 1995, but never defended it before losing to Bertha Faye at SummerSlam that same year.
Taking into account the 14 May 1995 start-date, Blayze failed to defend her title for the same lengthy time as Dean Ambrose.
