The man who defeated The Rock at SummerSlam 2002 also had a 10 year plus wait between World Championship matches in WWE. The first half of Brock Lesnar's pro wrestling career was a frenetic two years to say the least - two years that saw Lesnar win championships and compete in classic matches before leaving the company under a dark cloud after WrestleMania XX in 2004.

Lesnar had lost the WWE Championship to Eddie Guerrero prior to 'Mania XX at No Way Out in February, and it was eight long years before he made his shocking return the night after WrestleMania XXVIII. It was two more years before Lesnar competed in a World Championship match - in which he squashed the man he interrupted on his first night back, John Cena.

In the 10 long years between Championship matches, Lesnar managed to win titles in New Japan and the UFC, the latter of which made a return to WWE increasingly unlikely. But return The Beast did, and 10 years after losing his title to Latino Heat, he stole it from The Face That Runs The Place by suplexing him out of his boots.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
