It still stands out as one of the great anomalies of World Wrestling Entertainment record reigns. Sure, CM Punk's 434-day reign was seen as the company giving in to certain sections of the fanbase, but Punk was always a main event talent waiting to happen. If you look at the other titles, you'll see something of a trend with the names of those who held the straps the longest.

Nikki Bella held the Divas Championship for the longest time, The Honky Tonk Man clung onto the Intercontinental Championship longer than anyone else, and Dean Ambrose held the US Championship the longest under the WWE banner.

The WWE Tag Team Championship? The record reign belongs to Paul London & Brian Kendrick.

Undoubtedly two of the most talented men to grace the roster, London & Kendrick were way ahead of their time in many ways. They were indy standouts who made it to the WWE, only to be brutalised by big men upon arriving. If they hadn't had this run and arrived in NXT today, Corey Graves would go ape.

The duo held the tag titles for a whopping 331 days in 2006/07, making them the fourth longest reigning tag team champions in company history. The fact that Paul London and Brian Kendrick lay claim to this is impressive in itself, and is one of the WWE records that often goes overlooked.

The tandem dropped the titles to Deuce 'n Domino on an episode of SmackDown in Italy in 2007. Will The New Day beat this record? They are just 56 days away from doing so.
