Tajiri's first Cruiserweight championship reign began on October 22nd 2001, and he would be the man in possession of the belt when it changed from the WCW Cruiserweight title to the WWF (later WWE).

The Japanese Buzzsaw is arguably the most successful Japanese wrestler in modern day WWE, winning a number of championships and being treated fairly seriously throughout. His first Cruiserweight reign was his longest, at 162 days, and would see him turn heel in the process by mistreating his on-screen girlfriend, Torrie Wilson.

Billy Kidman would end Tajiri's reign on an episode of SmackDown in April 2002.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
