10 Longest WWE Hardcore Title Reigns Ever

7. Test - 36 Days

The first new champion of the new millennium, Test captured the Hardcore title on January 17th 2000 by defeating The Big Boss Man on RAW. Again this was Test's first run with the title, a second coming in 2001. His two reigns combined for a total of 49 days as champion. Test is a strange yardpole in WWE history. He always seemed like the ideal guy for the company, but something seemed to stop him making the next step up. He is most remembered for his role in the angle that brought Triple H and Stephanie McMahon together on camera. That and having excellent entrance music.

Still, his first run as Hardcore champion came to an end in historical circumstances. On an episode of Smackdown in February 2000, Crash Holly defeated Test for the belt bringing his 36 day run as champion to a close. Crash would subsequently declare the belt as being on the line 24 hours a day, seven days a week, bringing in to effect the Hardcore Championship that all knew and loved (or despised). Crash would be attacked in airports, funhouses, circuses and more over his 22 reigns as champion, none of which lasted longer than 20 days.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
