10 Longest WWE Hardcore Title Reigns Ever

6. Steve Blackman - 50 Days

Steve Blackman is a strange case. I don't really remember him as a particularly important character during his tenure, or particularly remember him at all, but he took part in some pretty famous moments in WWE. His time spent in the Hardcore Division was pretty much his defining moment, highlighted by his feud with Shane McMahon that resulted in the much-seen fall Shane took in the video below. Blackman's second reign as Hardcore Champion started at a house show in Florida and lasted for 50 days before being ended by Shane McMahon on RAW in August 2000.

The title was still being defended 24/7 at the time, but this rule would be suspended in order to ensure Blackman got his rematch against Shane. This ended in their match at SummerSlam, where Blackman would get his title back. This time he would hold the belt for 28 days, before being bested by (predictably) Crash Holly.

Still, this was a hell of a moment.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
