10 Longest WWE Hardcore Title Reigns Ever

5. The Undertaker - 58 Days

Yes, The Undertaker. The Dead Man only had one reign as champion during his Big Evil days, but what a reign it was. The fifth longest reign of all time, it began on December 9th 2001 (Rob Van Dam was his victim) and run for 58 days all the way until February 2nd 2002. Needless to say the 24/7 attacks lessened sharply during Taker's run as champion, for understandable reasons.

Rather than being something to keep him busy before returning to the main event, Taker was embroiled in big time feuds during his 58-day run, most notably with The Rock. It would be The Rock that would eventually cost Taker his Hardcore title though, as ol' Dwayne interfered in a match that would lead the American Bad Ass to drop the strap.

Taker's opponent? None other than his greatest rival, his blood rival, the man who will be synonymous with The Undertake until death they do part.

Maven.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
