Broken Matt Hardy fever took over the wrestling world in 2016, and many were surprised at Matt finally becoming the more interesting Hardy brother. This should have been no surprise whatsoever though, as every time the Brothers Hardy have been tasked with coming up with characters in the past, it has been the efforts of Matt that have shined brightest.

In 2003 Matt Hardy was deep into his Mattitude phase, accompanied to the ring by Shannon Moore and a selection of Matt facts. The fact displayed for his 2003 Royal Rumble would grow in fame a decade later, as Matt informed the world that he disliked mustard. Matt would go on to have a rather eventful Rumble, although he wouldn't eliminate a single individual.

Lasting 27 minutes and 13 seconds, Matt spent most of his time clinging to the ropes or being saved by Shannon. It couldn't last forever though, and Matt Hardy Version 1.0 became the 21st man eliminated from the Rumble, and in some style. Brock Lesnar was the man responsible, giving Matt an F5 over the top rope onto the members of Team Angle.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
