Rating: -4 stars

Though WWE would love you to believe that Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant is one of the greatest wrestling matches of all time, this simply isn't true. One of the most important? Absolutely, but while Hogan slamming Andre is a clip that'll rightly be replayed forever, the match itself was absolutely putrid, particularly when watched outside the bubble.

This one was all about the spectacle. The crowd were ablaze throughout, desperate for the uber-babyface to conquer his gargantuan foe, and the duo barely had to move a muscle to keep them engaged. This is fortunate, because that's exactly what they did from bell to bell.

Andre was glacial throughout, and Hogan spent half the match stuck in a bearhug. It might be one of the biggest WrestleMania main events of all time, but it's probably the worst as far as the action goes, and that's why it was awarded -4 stars. Respect to Andre for persisting through his obvious physical discomfort, but his performance wasn't easy to watch.

The historic significance of Hogan vs. Andre should never be downplayed, but no amount of nostalgia can cloud the fact that this was a terrible wrestling match.
