10 Major WWE Problems With The Authority

9. J&J Security's Role Should Be Done By Someone Else

Whenever you have a big stable, you need enforcers to add a sense of intimidation to the group’s presence. The Four Horsemen had Arn Anderson, the Ministry of Darkness had the APA and Viscera, and Mr. McMahon had the likes of the Big Bossman and a slew of other big men willing to do the boss’s dirty work.

Whom does the Authority trust for this important position? Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury, a.k.a. J&J Security.

Playing the parts of the annoying heels that interfere in matches, J&J Security are a 21st century version of Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson. That wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing, if the roster wasn’t in such dire need of new stars, and so many wrestlers lacked the opportunity to elevate themselves.

Not only are J&J Security too small to ever be believable as proper enforcers, but the two of them are also backstage agents who put together matches with the more active Superstars and Divas. Their involvement with the Authority is more or less limited to interfering in Seth Rollins’ matches, acting as cannon fodder during beat downs, playing comedy characters, and simply standing around trying to look tough.

The Authority would be much better off having an actually active tag team in the role that J&J Security fill right now. Harper & Rowan, for example, would be ideal because they’re big and intimidating, which would amplify the ‘don’t mess with us’ image the Authority perpetuates.

Another team that could work could be the Ascension, which is obviously a heel team, but lacks the TV exposure needed to find success. Pairing them with the Authority would be a surefire way to give the team more opportunities to get over with the crowd, and unlike J&J Security, they would actually be presented as more than just cannon fodder.
