https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JY9BXOcmnWw On a particular episode of WCWs Monday Nitro, Big Poppa Pump issued a personal promo directed at Flair, which Scott Steiner has recently suggested angered The Nature Boy to such a large extent, that he wanted the Genetic Freak fired. Within the promo Steiner blasted Flair for ripping off Buddy Rogers entire gimmick, labelled Flair the key problem behind WCWs decline in viewing figures and even suggested that the company released Stone Cold due to Flair being a jealous old b*stard. At the time of the famous shoot, Steiner was a part of rebellious, uncontrollable stable, nWo. Big Poppa suggested that being a member of such an unruly faction allowed the wrestler the luxury of microphone freedom, which of course, turned out to be an opportunity too good to be missed. When reflecting on the incident with Great North Wrestling, Steiner said "It was so close to the truth, everything I said. After I did that, I expected a confrontation in the back. But I got to the back, and somebody said he went into a room and started crying." That very shoot actually led to a two week suspension for Scott Steiner. However, due to the ridiculous fantasy contracts that WCW were handing out in the 90s, there was a clause within his deal that guaranteed him full pay through any suspensions; so essentially his punishment was a fully paid two week holiday.
