10 Major WWF Stars (That WCW Stupidly Let Go)

3. Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman first found fame as a ringside manager in WCW from 1991 to 1993. Under the name Paul E Dangerously he stood out as a true character, leading the 'Dangerous Alliance' and appearing with his oversized mobile phone like some sort of crazed agent. Even back then he was clearly one of the best wrestling TV characters in the business. Little did WCW know that he was also one of the finest industry minds going. He went on to change the DNA of wrestling with smaller scale ECW, just imagine what he could have achieved had WCW made him their head of creative. They failed to realise his potential as both an on screen and off screen talent, terminating his contract in 1993. The stupidity in letting him go was compounded by the fact that it was done with anti-semitic connotations. Paul is a Jew and he accused new WCW chief Bill Watts of firing him because of anti semitism, leading to Heyman winning a major undisclosed settlement. He went on to inspire the brand of wrestling which in turn inspired the WWF's Attitude Era success. He later became one of the all time great WWE on screen characters and is currently active as Cesaro and Brock Lesnar's manager.
