3. Sin Cara

The biggest non-WWE draw of the 2000s, Místico was hailed as a major coup when he signed for WWE in 2011.

However, rather than being sent to a developmental territory to acquire the necessary skills to make the transition to American competition, the newly christened Sin Cara was immediately thrust open WWE audiences.

The enthusiasm to establish Sin Cara as an instant attraction, however, quickly backfired.

Beginning as a featured babyface aligning himself with John Cena, it quickly became apparent that without the additional ring time to get used to WWE competition and not speaking any English, the Sin Cara project was destined for failure.

Suspended for a suspected steroid use merely months into his run, Místico was replaced under the mask by developmental talent Jorge Arias.

Returning to feud with the impostor Sin Cara, the former Místico won a mask vs mask match in Mexico city, where the fake Sin Cara was unmasked and named as Hunico.

Subsequent attempts were made to accommodate Sin Cara, but injuries attempts to learn the language and wrestling style proved ultimately futile.

The former Místico returned to Mexico in January of 2014 while Hunico went on to permanently assume the poisoned chalice of Sin Cara in WWE.
