"No! No! No! I can't wait for Drew McIntyre to avenge Ricochet, and take down this big baddie once and for all!"

That's what WWE wanted you to feel, when laying out this match. You didn't, or you might have, but the prevailing feeling was "Welp, this company is knackered".

This is the hill to die on, because Ricochet is really, really talented. We were shown the most of cruel glimpses because his bumping and selling was awesome. The spectacular angles at which he landed on his neck were millimetre-precise to convey just how much of a monster Lesnar is, and he sold like he was dead in a way that stripped away any element of melodrama.

Can you imagine how effective this performance would have been, had this informed a babyface comeback and a desperate series of near-falls engineered through his jaw-dropping aerial assaults?

You can't, because this company strips away any feeling of hope for its full-time generation of incredible talent.

They turned Ricochet into the biggest f*cking geek in the world, and then they turned him into a squished fly. You will never take him seriously again. The Real-Life Superhero is, in fact, the Flaming Carrot.
