7. Sting & Ric Flair vs. Terry Funk & Great Muta (Halloween Havoc 89)
With Bruno Sammartino as the guest referee, longtime enemies Ric Flair and Sting put their differences aside to battle the evil team of Terry Funk and the Great Muta. The match would take place in an electrified Thunderdome Cage match where the only way to win was to have the other team's manager throw in the towel. The heels were seconded by the criminally underrated "Playboy" Gary Hart and the babyfaces had Ole Anderson in their corner. The cage was essentially a Hell in the Cell style cage with electricity on top and a slanted roof to prevent inference. A standard tag match started us off but it quickly disintegrated into a wild brawl. Funk hung from the top of the cage while Flair delivered some stiff chops and Muta brawled with Sting. The heels eventually tied Sting to the cage and proceeded to beat the ever-loving crap out of Ric Flair, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Sting finally broke free and dove off the cage onto Funk, triggering a big babyface comeback. After getting rid of Muta, Flair applied the Figure Four to Funk and Sting added splashes to punish Terry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAMY_swXQHM The managers start brawling on the outside and Ole decks Gary Hart, sending Hart's towel flying in the air. Bruno sees the towel, awarding the match to Flair and Sting and ending a brutal night in Philadelphia.
