What a whirlwind couple of weeks it has been for the Monster Among Men. Fresh from winning his first singles title in WWE, Braun Strowman managed to get himself into a three-on-one title defence and subsequently lose the championship, throwing his WrestleMania plans somewhat into the air. That all changed in the build to the Show of Shows, and Strowman now stands tall as the WWE Universal Championship.

The use of the word ‘somewhat’ in that previous paragraph isn’t coincidental. It isn’t difficult to see where Strowman was headed before everything went haywire. The former Intercontinental Champion would have beaten Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura on episodes of SmackDown, before smashing Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 36 and regaining his Intercontinental title in the process.

Who are the likely summertime challengers for Strowman’s title? Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt jump to mind first, but the new champ needs a placeholder feud to begin his reign. Why not finish what was started with Zayn and co? Sure, it makes Zayn look like a geek and totally discredits the IC title, but have you ever watched WWE?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
