10 Matches We NEED To See At WWE SummerSlam 2021

7. Intercontinental Title: Apollo Crews (c) Vs. Cesaro

Your writer flipped with this one, initially having Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, and King Nakamura also involved in a six-way elimination match. Instead, a straight-up singles bout between Apollo Crews and Cesaro is the most rational option.

There's literally no other reason for that choice other than it would be a banger of a match, if WWE let the duo go all out.

Apollo's Intercontinental Championship run has been surprisingly alright thus far, with decent television defences against the likes of Kevin Owens and Big E. Again, though, why has the former Uhaa Nation gone without a pay-per-view title defence yet? Like Sheamus, Crews is approximately two weeks away from hitting 100 days as the Intercontinental Champion. Defending against 'The Swiss Superman' is the key to end this.

WWE finally pulling the trigger (sort of) on Cesaro has been one of 2021's welcome surprises. His WrestleMania and WrestleMania Backlash story arcs vs. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, respectively, were banging to such an extent that Cesaro even brought back his UFO manoeuvre against Rollins. He could do with another run as a secondary champion, even more so when his sole singles title reign in WWE ended in April 2013.

Just give him a title already!
