10 Matches We NEED To See At WWE SummerSlam 2021
6. Drew McIntyre Vs. The Fiend
Sorry, Drew.
The Fiend is surely going to be back in the picture for SummerSlam, and with no match currently scheduled for the former Universal Champion, slot Drew McIntyre in against him. Why not? That's been WWE's mantra for Bray Wyatt's character following his forgettable SummerSlam 2019 outing vs. Finn Balor. Remember that? He wasn't always dire!
Drew is currently scheduled to enter the men's Money In The Bank ladder match on 18 July. Remember, though, he's not allowed to challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship anymore. What if big Bob was to remain the champion until next year's MITB pay-per-view? It would be a complete waste of a Money In The Bank winner, unless Drew were to be drafted to SmackDown.
There's an easy option to solve it; the Fiend returns, costs Drew the match, and the match is booked. Bray has done this before remember, preventing Roman Reigns from winning the briefcase in 2015, allowing Sheamus to become Mr. Money In The Bank that year.
Look, someone has to face the Fiend at SummerSlam because WWE of course WWE will want him to be back for when audiences are back full-time. Likewise, Drew must remain a main eventer away from the title picture. As terrible as the Fiend is, McIntyre could make a SummerSlam showdown vs. Wyatt work.
