10 Memorable WWE Moments From Sunday Night Heat
4. The Rock Vs. Mankind Vs. Ken Shamrock Vs. Big Bossman
There aren't many times that Heat boasted serious bouts worthy of headlining a PPV, but this bout from December 1998 is a definite exception. One of the most pre-eminent main events in the show's history, the four corners contest had enough heavy-hitting headliners to take up an entire wing in the WWE Hall of Fame.
The match itself also had four separate championships tied up in it, with Bossman as Hardcore Champ, Shamrock as IC Champ, both of them as Tag Champs and The Rock as WWF Champion. Add one Hardcore Legend into the mix and a showstopping Commissioner on the outside and you have some serious star power.
Three of the four participants were members of Vince McMahon's evil Corporation at the time, leaving Mankind in a glorified three-on-one contest. With a Corporate Comissioner at ringside and the far from impartial Shane McMahon on commentary, the odds were not in Mankind's favour; a fact made worse by the arrival of Vince and Corporation bodyguard, Test.
Foley's bad luck would get worse when a chair was introduced, which ultimately spelt the end for all Mankind. Just to make the show all the more star-studded, D-Generation X arrived to halt the post-match beatdown, bringing the show to a close in spectacular fashion.
