I’m not trying to shamelessly plug anything here, but this list entry really helps emphasize the greatness of Shawn Michaels. In issue one of Wrestling by WhatCulture, over 50 writers, wrestlers and industry experts were polled to give their top 10 WWE matches of all time. From there, a list of the top 100 matches were compiled. Michaels was in a staggering amount of them: 25.

Think of the hundreds of wrestlers who have competed in WWE over the years, and the thousands upon thousands of matches that have been aired on TV and pay-per-view. Shawn Michaels was in one in every four of the 100 best. That is insane. He absolutely dominated the top half of the list too, as he was in our Nos. 28, 27, 26, 20, 19, 18, 15, 8, 7, 6 and 1 matches of all time.

To make that even more mind-blowing, remember that HBK missed out on four of the best years of his career! There’s no telling how many more classics he’d have been able to put together if he had worked through the entire Attitude Era. It can sting to think about a bit, but he’s left us with so many memorable matches that it’s hard to get too upset over it.
