Michaels is one of the most decorated wrestlers in WWE history. It’s not just the championships he won in the company, but it's also the level of acclaim he’s received from outside publications that have made him a true legend.

For starters, The Heartbreak Kid has been in PWI’s Match of the Year 11 times! No one else even comes close to that. Even more amazing is that he won the award seven years in a row, which were the last seven years of his career, meaning he absolutely went out on top. Just as impressive is that the publication awarded him feud of the decade for his battle with Chris Jericho.

The Wrestling Observer awarded Michaels match of the year four times, as well as gifting him with two of their rare five star matches. The only real blemish on his record is that The Observer also awarded him and Triple H with Worst Feud of the Year against Vince and Shane McMahon. You can't win them all.

If that’s ever got Shawn down, he can take a look at his 15 Slammy Awards, most notably his 1996 award for Best Slammin’ Jammin’ Entrance.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
