10 Mistakes From WrestleMania 36 That WWE Must Not Repeat
6. Cramming On Too Many ‘TV Matches’
Including pre-show bouts, WrestleMania 36 featured 18 matches all in. Add the Drew McIntyre vs. Big Show scuffle (more on that later) onto that and you'd have a whopping 19 encounters to take in. That's ambitious, and it kinda' reeks of ye olden times when WWE boasted about "extra value" on the back of VHS boxes.
Nobody would be whinging if those 18 matches were all essential showdowns, but they weren't. Elias vs. 'King' Corbin should've happened on SmackDown, Aleister Black vs. Bobby Lashley could've been kept back for Raw, Otis vs. Dolph Ziggler felt rushed, and The Street Profits vs. Angel Garza and Austin Theory fell flat.
Bayley's title defence against four other women was another waste of space too, and the confusing build towards a three-way ladder match for the SmackDown Tag-Team Titles hurt an otherwise-fun match up. Long story short, an awful lot of 'Mania 36's output came across as regular TV stuff.
WWE have to trim that fat this year.
