10 Mistakes From WrestleMania 36 That WWE Must Not Repeat

5. Leaning On Cinematics

This is a bit of a weird one, because WWE's dependence on cinematic matches did help 'Mania 36's lasting appeal. Both John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt in a 'Firefly Fun House' match and The Undertaker vs. AJ Styles in a 'Boneyard' brawl were well-worth everyone's time, and they elevated each respective night.

After that, WWE went on a bit of a rampage with cinematic goodness, and things threatened to get out of hand by summer. They should go out of their way to avoid repeating those tricks at this year's WrestleMania, especially if they hope people will still remember 2020's weekend as standalone and/or something that made the best of a bad situation.

'Mania 37 doesn't even need one cinematic-style match - seriously, what's the point? It'd only come across as forced, and they're hardly necessary when recent gimmick bouts (like Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble) worked just fine without multiple jump cuts.

Cinematics can work again in the future, but not anytime soon.
