Babyface Edge has had his moments, but none like his two most prolific heel runs, one as a soda-loving dude-bro, and the other as "The Rated-R Superstar". After years of trying to find his main event hook, Edge found it as something along the lines of classic Triple H, taking pleasure in destroying the lives of his rivals. His 'Ultimate Opportunist' run solidified him as a perfect villain. When Edge turned face upon his return from a torn Achilles in early 2010, he was given a pretty horrible WrestleMania story in which he'd taunt former partner Chris Jericho with grunted threats of "SPEEEEEEEEEAR", taking away the more realistic, from-the-heart sadism that made him an interesting character in the first place. By the time he'd kidnapped Paul Bearer towards the end of the year, he just felt like 2001 Edge imitating 1998 Stone Cold, as written by any-year Adam Sandler.
