10 Moments That Defined Impact Wrestling In 2020
7. Farewell To The Rascalz
Having spent two years in Impact Wrestling, The Rascalz surprisingly departed the promotion on the first Impact following the Turning Point special on Impact Plus, their final match pitting Dez and Wentz against their brother-in-arms Trey Miguel, and Rich Swann.
The announcement of their tenure coming to an end was quite the shock. It simply came as Miguel revealed the trio were being evicted from their treehouse, which apparently also brought their Impact contracts to an end too. From a storyline point of view, it may not make entire sense, but from the outside, it does.
Despite none of the members ever tasting championship gold in Impact, they had been treated superbly well by the promotion. In 2020 alone, Trey challenged for both the World and X Division Championships, the former of which saw him main event Slammiversary. Wentz, meanwhile, had a star-making performance when he replaced 'The Fresh Prince of Mid-Air' against Ace Austin. As for Dez, he won the 2017 Super X Cup before Trey and Wentz had even arrived.
If you knew The Rascalz, you knew it wouldn't take long for them to find a new home. Dez and Wentz have since reported to the WWE Performance Center, while Trey's journey remains undetermined at the time of publication.
