10 Moments That Literally Stopped WCW Matches

1. Sid's Shattered Sin Shin

Eww. Just eww.

Back in January 2001, WCW Sin - the company's third-to-last ever PPV - had Sid Vicious suffer an utterly horrific injury which saw him severely fracture his lower left leg. With WCW management foolishly encouraging Sid to add some top-rope manoeuvres to his arsenal, the two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion jumped off the turnbuckle and aimed a big boot in Scott Steiner's direction.

Unfortunately for Vicious, his landing saw his left leg crumple beneath him.

Obviously this horror injury derailed the match and caused much confusion for the rest of those involved in the bout. This was a four-way contest also featuring Jeff Jarrett and a mystery opponent, and it was the involvement of this mystery figure which caused the match to awkwardly stall - as otherwise Scotty could've just pinned Vicious or the match could've been called off entirely.

The masked man would end up being Road Warrior Animal, and he was due to help Steiner defeat Sid. Not yet in the match by the point of Vicious' injury, Steiner had to buy time until Animal could get to the ring. So, what we got was Steiner doing push-ups while the referee fed him instructions and Sid lay in agony.
