WCW's 1996 iteration of the company's Bash at the Beach PPV went down in pro wrestling folklore for being the show where Hulk Hogan famously turned his back on WCW, siding with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall to form "the New World Order of wrestling, brother".

From there, the nWo would instantly become the hottest thing in the industry, with Messrs Hogan, Nash and Hall soon joined by a few other faces as this group started to decimate the WCW roster - all while WCW as a company likewise decimated Vince McMahon's WWF.

At Bash at the Beach '96, it was Sting, Lex Luger and Randy Savage facing off against Nash, Hall and a mystery partner. With Luger kayfabe knocked out and removed from the bout, this contest became a two-on-two affair. As Hall and Nash got the upper hand on their opponents, the Hulkster strode down to supposedly save the day for WCW.

Only, of course, he didn't.

In terms of how all of this stopped the match, Nash and Hall immediately bailed to the outside of the ring once Hogan appeared in the aisle. With Sting and Savage both prone on the mat, The Outsiders watched on as Hulk dropped the big leg twice on the Macho Man before attacking the referee.
