10 Moments That Literally Stopped WCW Matches

3. Lil' Naitch Refuses To Count

When Ric Flair took on Kevin Nash on the 19 April 1999 edition of WCW Nitro, this was the start of Flair's descent into madness.

The kayfabe President of WCW at this time, Flair was being accused of being mentally unstable by Roddy Piper and certain others. It was on this Nitro, though, that the Nature Boy fully embraced the insanity, throwing his shoes into the crowd, stripping down to his underwear, declaring himself the President of the United States and signing contracts that he shouldn't have been signing.

By the end of this Nitro, Flair was taken away on a stretcher by the men in white coats. No, seriously.

Anyways, prior to the 16-time World Champion being institutionalised, he had a match against Kevin Nash. When Big Sexy hit his patented Jackhammer on Flair, referee Charles Robinson - aka Lil' Naitch - refused to count the pinfall.

Robinson exited the ring as a frustrated Nash looked on, and it would be Gorgeous George - who was feuding with Robison at the time (yes, really) - who came to Big Daddy Cool's aid. George knocked out Robinson, took his ref shirts, then rolled into the ring and counted the three-count as Nash emerged victorious.
