10 Moments That Will Shape Wrestling During The Next Decade
5. Omega Vs. Okada V Is The Best Wrestling Match Of All Time
Should AEW and NJPW work out a deal, this match will be their golden goose. The calibre of matches that Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada have put on in their four previous meetings have been nothing short of spectacular. Omega and Okada bring the best out of each other and, while their last match at Dominion 6.9 in 2018 was widely regarded as the greatest wrestling match of all time, these two geniuses will raise their game to an even higher level when they meet this decade.
Both wrestlers are in an interesting place right now; Okada kicked off 2020 by dropping the IWGP Heavyweight Championship to Tetsuya Naito, while Omega is still, somewhat, lacking a purpose in AEW, at the moment. These are two of the best storytellers in the industry and should it be decided that they will meet in match number five, it can be trusted that the joint booking from Gedo and AEW will be patient and meticulously done. Can you imagine Kenny Omega with the AEW Championship going up against The Rainmaker, once he's recaptured his IWGP Heavyweight Championship, in a title vs. title fight?
Okada, 32, is still getting better and while Kenny Omega , 36, has been enjoyable as a centrepiece of AEW's roster, he will build himself back up to regain his Best Bout Machine title. These two will eclipse a 7.5 star rating from Dave Meltzer.
