9. Bret Hart Sells Pizza

Bret Hart didn't flog The Domino's, The Pizza Hut, or The Papa John's: this little-seen advert was aboot a Canadian chain named 'Pizza Pizza'. The last time Bret sold for something this greasy, he tried to get Doink to work the match in his place.

Oh!

Hart strolls into the pizza joint and is warmly welcomed by a typically polite Canadian feller.

"Wow, Bret Hart!" the young lad smiles.

Bret is weirdly surly in response.

"Hey. Give me an extra large Pizza Pizza, with pepperoni, mushrooms, and extra cheese."

He leans in and snarls that "extra cheese" line, as if the guy is more pizza boy toy than pizza boy. It's strange. It's not as if the guy could have reminded him of Shawn. He looks nothing like him. He isn't staring at his f*ckin' hands, for starters.

Undaunted, the pizza boy says "Hey Hitman, how about a second extra large for only a toonie?"

According to Google, a "toonie" is a delightfully Canadian term for a $2 coin. Hart accepts the offer, and shouts "YEAH I WANNA CRACK THE CARDBOARD!"

This, presumably, was the chain's marketing slogan, emphasising that the pizzas were in fact so large that they could damage the box. That's weird alliteration. Who wrote the copy: Vince?
