Ridiculed former WCW World Heavyweight Champion David Arquette vs. current NXT master grappling badass Timothy Thatcher? Yes, this match did indeed take place.

First of all, if you're one of those who has long lambasted Arquette, please go and check out last year's You Cannot Kill David Arquette documentary as soon as possible. Seriously, not only is that an entertaining, educational and emotional watch, it also frames the one-time WCW Champ in a whole other light for those who lazily blame him for the downfall of World Championship Wrestling.

Anyway, back to Thatcher vs. Arquette...

This unlikely match-up took place at Joey Ryan's Penis Party on 5 April 2019, just shy of two years ago as of this writing.

Seeing the all-business, no-gimmicks Thatcher competing for Ryan in the first place was a tad jarring, even more so when it was Arquette he was facing. Thankfully for the British Messiah, he brutalised Arquette for a few minutes before finally tapping him out for the dominant victory.
