10 More Wrestling Gimmicks Blatantly Stolen From Hollywood

8. Gangrel - The Lost Boys

Before David Heath made his 1998 WWE debut as Gangrel, he came up with a Vampire Warrior gimmick in the mid-90s modeled off the classic 80s vampire movie The Lost Boys, specifically Kiefer Sutherland's fanged antagonist David.

Heath successfully pitched the character to writers Bruce Prichard and Vince Russo, who added their own spin on it, and Gangrel was born.

It's probably fair to say that Gangrel's look and awesome theme music were far more appealing than Heath's actual in-ring talent, which is probably why he ended up released in 2001, while Edge and Christian's careers truly began to skyrocket.
