8. Michael Cole Reads From The Script At WrestleMania 32

The praise directed towards Michael Cole is incredibly telling. Those that put him over all say variations of the same thing.

He can't be that bad if he's done this for 25 years.

It's a hard job different to that of a traditional play-by-play announcer.

He does a very good job under the circumstances.

What these people are saying is that he's hardly a legendary or even good commentator, but that he is capable of patrolling the show while Vince McMahon screams at him and calls him worse than sh*t for something entirely trivial like failing to say the word "would" when recapping something that has literally happened seconds prior.

"Cole is fantastic at being generic and overproduced" is damning, and he wasn't even good at that at WrestleMania 32.

There, when Shane McMahon did his big bump off the top of Hell In A Cell, Cole was caught reading the ambitiously iconic line "For the love of mankind, Shane just exploded through our table".

This was obvious pre-written wordplay designed to put over the moment - consider who innovated the deranged spot - so why Cole felt the need to ruin the immersion and read it from the script is inexplicable.
