3. George Wells
Prior to appearing at WrestleMania 2, in a singles match against 2014 Hall of Fame inductee Jake "the Snake" Roberts, George Wells was a fairly successful football player-turned-professional wrestler. Having competed in San Francisco, Mid-Atlantic, the National Wrestling Alliance and Stampede Wrestling, Wells was no stranger to the industry. Unfortunately, by the time 1986 rolled around and WWE went national, Wells was a shell of the performer he had been previously. After 13 years in the industry, his time in the spotlight was limited and many questioned why he was given a spot on the WrestleMania card, in a singles contest against a bright young, intriguing star like Roberts. Wells lost the match in short order, then became infamous for foaming at the mouth when python Damien wrapped himself around his neck. Nearly three decades after his one and only major appearance for WWE, he remains one of the more curious competitors in event history.
