10 Most Alarming Ways WWE Rewrites History

7. Their Hall Of Fame Simply Ignores History

Every professional sports Hall of Fame has a few questionable people enshrined, but in a way, that’s part of the fun. Fans can argue about borderline cases for years on whether a particular person should have been inducted or not.

But in WWE, there’s a few names that shouldn’t be anywhere near the Hall. That’s because the entire thing is not based off of contributions to the industry, but is instead based on politics, Vince's personal perception and whether a particular name will sell some tickets to the event.

For fan's of wrestling’s history, it’s pretty ridiculous that Rikishi and Godfather are in WWE's Hall of Fame while The Fabulous Kangaroos or The Dusek Riot Squad are not (or choose from dozens of other names). Those were two of the most successful, best drawing tag teams in the history of the business. Godfather and Rikishi were briefly popular mid-carders who were one-dimensional, wore out their welcome with fans, and flopped badly in main event roles.

Placing them in the same hallowed space (someday likely at a physical location) that a Bruno Sammartino or Lou Thesz also occupies is just complete nonsense.

However, that’s not the only thing wrong with their Hall of Fame

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
