Despite being created by Koji Kanemoto and being used by a variety of different wrestlers over the years, one of the most brutal yet beautiful looking Koji Clutches of them all belongs to Sami Zayn. He would first use it down in NXT and it's brought out rarely these days, but when it does his fans get very excited and hope that this is the time his submission finisher works again.

It's worth noting that Sami has defeated the likes of Leo Kruger and Tyson Kidd in matches for NXT with this submission, and also used it in matches against Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura, and John Cena.

Before being utilized by Zayn in NXT, the Koji Clutch has been used by Christopher Daniels, Stevie Richards, Justin Gabriel, CM Punk, and Sami Callihan. While Callihan and Daniels' variations came in a close second and third, it’s Sami Zayn’s that has become the most memorable.

The Koji Clutch is a stretch that focuses all its pressure on the opponent’s neck using head scissors while also using the hands to create more tension to cause a tap-out victory. It is also known as a Half Neck Wrench head scissors and a Leg-Sling Grounded Crossface.
