8. The Torture Rack (Lex Luger)

It truly is a testament to how insanely jacked Lex Luger was that bending people's backs over his traps was a convincing match-ender.

The WCW legend would hoist his foes over his shoulders and pretty much just break them in half unless they submitted in time. Everyone from Virgil (or Vincent as he was known in the Atlanta-based promotion) to Hollywood Hogan crumbled under the spine-jarring torment of Luger's torture rack.

While his Narcissus heel persona and subsequent US super patriot face run were flops in the WWF, Luger was a consistent crowd favourite in WCW. Look no further than his surprise submission win over The Hulkster on Nitro in 1997. Many expected the then-heel nWo boss Hogan to hold the WCW World Heavyweight Championship all the way to Starrcade in December for his showdown with Sting.

The fans in attendance for the 4 August 1997 edition of Vince McMahon's least favourite Monday night series went wild for the upset. Luger's torture rack secured him the biggest pop of his career and his first world title in six years. It's just a pity he dropped it back to Hogan a mere five days later...

While Luger is the undisputed king of the hold, many have tried adding it to their arsenals. Perhaps the most wild example was AJ Styles using it on the much larger Samoa Joe during their Unbreakable 2005 classic triple threat match with Christopher Daniels.
