Randy Orton has a history of shoulder injuries throughout his 24-year career. He suffers from hypermobility in both of his shoulders, which causes the joints to move beyond the expected physiological range of motion, and that has been the cause of most of Orton's injuries over the years.

His condition left his shoulders vulnerable to damage while doing even the most menial tasks, and he once dislocated his shoulder while performing his signature taunt before hitting an RKO during a match against Edge at Over the Limit 2010.

While that counts as an in-ring injury, The Legend Killer once hurt his shoulder while taking the trash out of his house. He was in a feud with The Wyatt Family and was ready to team up with Dean Ambrose to take on Braun Strowman and Luke Harper in a tag team match in the Hell in a Cell 2015 pre-show. But WWE had to cancel the match after Orton sustained the shoulder injury, which sidelined him for nine months, before he returned in July 2016 to set up a match against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.
