During the 2010 Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, The Undertaker was one of the contestants in the World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber match. While he was making his entrance, the technician mistimed his pyro, which resulted in The Deadman getting engulfed in flames three times.

He sustained first and second-degree burns to his neck and chest and was allowed to compete only after getting cleared by a ringside doctor. The crew handed him several bottles of water throughout the match to douse himself to ease the pain. Despite the scary start, The Undertaker continued with the match and dropped the World Heavyweight Championship to Chris Jericho after Shawn Michaels snuck into the chamber and laid him out with Sweet Chin Music.

WWE promptly fired the person responsible and had already escorted him out of the arena by the time The Undertaker got backstage after the match. The Undertaker recalled the incident while talking on his YouTube channel and stated that he told the team before the match that he felt the pyro was too close to him. But the latter dismissed it by claiming it was a draft in the building.
