10 Most Bizarre WWE Superstar Injuries Ever
3. Shane McMahon Tears Quad At WrestleMania 39
Shane McMahon is known for performing some of the most dangerous high-risk stunts in WWE history. But time does take a toll on one's body, and no one saw it coming when he got injured performing a routine move at WrestleMania 39.
After his exit from WWE following Royal Rumble 2022, Shane McMahon made a surprise return to the company at WrestleMania 39. He came out to compete in an impromptu match against The Miz, who was co-hosting WrestleMania with WWE Hall of Famer Snoop Dogg.
Shane McMahon delivered quick rights and lefts to The Miz before sending the latter into the ropes. He then went for a leapfrog but collapsed right after hitting the mat. Snoop Dogg then improvised and stepped in as McMahon's replacement and defeated The Miz in a quick match.
Triple H later revealed during the press conference that Shane McMahon tore his quad during the match. He underwent surgery to repair the damage, and while fans hoped to see him back in a WWE ring again, it didn't happen, as reports claimed in June 2024 that he was no longer under contract with the company.
