As one of the most popular and successful tag teams of all time, there's a lot of history to be learnt about Edge and Christian. They won seven Tag Team Championships together, competed in the first three TLC matches, and they used to be brothers until they weren't.

It was revealed early in the pair's run that they were actually related. Gangrel used this fact to persuade Edge to join The Brood, and the sibling rivalry that Christian felt towards his "brother" was a huge part of their 2001 feud.

When Christian returned to WWE in 2009, any familial connection to the Rated-R Superstar was gone. In fact, on a promo on SmackDown, the two men canonically confirmed that they weren't actually brothers, just very old friends.

This is true in real life - the duo met when they were both starting out in wrestling - but that doesn't change the fact that WWE suddenly decided to change their backstories.

The two being brothers wasn't crucial to either of their characters, but this deception certainly came as a shock to those who had followed the pair for years.

Also, if they're not related, then who the hell was Grandma Edna? We demand answers!
