The 2018 men’s MITB affair was a thrilling bout, offering a field more than half-full of first time participants including titanic winner Braun Strowman. Booked as the typically unstoppable powerhouse that has defined his career so far, Strowman was an utter machine, becoming an unsurprising victor.

The mindset for his opponents was appropriately focused on neutralizing the big man’s impact. As a result, we saw the heel trio of Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe and Rusev temporarily align in an attempt to put the colossus down for good. Unfortunately, this would have dire consequences for the ill-fated Owens. He was about to play scapegoat in the scariest spot of the night.

Climbing a 20-foot ladder on the stage, Owens was prepared to jump on a lying Strowman, sending him crashing through a table. However, The Monster Among Men had other ideas. Meeting KO atop the ladder, Braun tossed his doomed adversary on a free-fall that would end with Owens plunging through the aforementioned table.

This was not a good time to be a prize-fighter, as a one-sided summer feud with Strowman was soon to come, which only made KO’s life worse. Regardless, Owens did add to his luckless MITB career, despite always chosen to cop the most barbaric blows.

More on that later.
